Terrafugia Transition, an American company based near boston and founded in 2006 by award winning trained aeronautical engineers and MBAs from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is all set to unveil a dual-purpose car-cum-plane vehicle, THE FLYING CAR, by 2011 with an expected cost of around $200,000.

If you get stuck in city traffic this two-seater vehicle can let you fly to avoid the congested city traffic and you can get back on the road when you wish, this vehicle will fold up its wings in 30 seconds and transform itself into a car.

Fuelled by Gasoline, it has front wheel drive on the road and a propeller for flight and can travel up to 725km in the air at a speed of more than 115kmph.

Company already has orders for 60 "Flying Cars".
